In this memoir, Lowman recounts her 40-year career studying trees. Dubbed “the Real-Life Lorax” by National Geographic, she constructed her own climbing kit in grad school to closely study the trees in the rain forests of Australia. Since then, she has been responsible for creating several treetop walkways around the world, and her research has led her from the redwood forests of California to Malaysia. A botanist, biologist and conservationist, Lowman weaves into her story recommendations for using trees to combat climate change.
