My Way

From the author:

My Way is my autobiography, which was typeset, printed and published in Toruń, Poland, in May of 2024. It covers my extensive roots dating back to the early 1600s in America and, as I discovered through my family tree research, comprises 32 immigrants from 8 countries in Western and Central Europe. They had all arrived by the early half of the 18th century, and all their descendants eventually arrived in Albemarle, Nelson, Augusta and Rockingham Counties in central Virginia. Also one Black branch of my ancestors founded Blacksburg, Va., in Montgomery County. Brief biographies of my parents are also included, followed by my childhood, advanced education and my professional life at Vanderbilt University (Professor of Chemistry from 1968 to 2020).

Anyone wishing to have a copy of My Way may send me an email at b.andes.hess@vanderbilt.edu, and I will mail you a copy at no charge. The book is hardbound, 180 pages, with many pictures in both color and black and white.
